We are in search for a Clinical Facilities Manager to lead on all specialist aspects of estates and associated operational services. You will be responsible for interpreting legislative and other requirements on estates and operational issues for Babylon Health and GP at Hand, including HTMs, HBNs and all other associated regulations and CQC guidance. To ensure that there are strategic and operational business plans in place for all services responsible for, and capture the plans as part of the annual business planning cycle.
The role will require strong resource management and planning skills, using effective leadership to engage positively with the Babylon Premises Department, Clinical Operations Teams, Marketing, IT Divisions and respective Landlords. To attend and update the stakeholders at meetings on all relevant matters relating to estates operational services.
You will be office based but required to travel and attend meetings across the organisations portfolios to include out-of-area UK wide premises used for GP at Hand general practice settings.
Your role is to:
Maintain compliance, to develop processes in accordance with the corporate policies, strategies and vision for Babylon’s flagship sites and its GP at Hand premises,
Emphasise the cultural changes and innovations essential to modernising health care and an improved patient experience.
Be responsible for planning and implementing service improvement and providing high quality fit for purpose premises.
Manage key strategic and operational estates change management programmes and key projects for the organisation across the UK
Ensure the Departmental Leads and their teams achieves its roles and objectives in securing and maintaining high quality, accessible and compliant premises to deliver it’s services.
Plan and deliver the organisations capital backlog maintenance programme, as well as dedicated future building infrastructure projects.
Support the development of all aspects of the GP at Hand premises procurement and participate in associated national requirements, i.e. statutory regulations, medical devices, decontamination, fire, legionella, health and safety, building regulations, planning, etc.
Plan and implement Building Fire strategy and action plan, and work closely with the External Fire Safety Officers.
Demonstrate risk and health and safety compliance with legislation and duty of care and to be involved in developing and overall organisation’s approach for monitoring.
Manage and mitigate estates risks such as ventilation, water, equipment and fire door maintenance by developing the log maintenance program and addressing backlogs.
Regularly update evidence that demonstrates estates operational services compliance with associated CQC and NHSLA standards and guidance.
Implement the plan to improve the electrical resilience across all sites.
Ensure that all services managed have robust continuity plans and being responsible for updating the estates risk register.
Be responsible for planning and delivering service cost improvements through productivity and efficiencies in a financially sustainable manner.
Benchmarking services against other NHS and private providers to ensure value for money and optimum service delivery.
Ensuring estates operational tasks are delivered in a safe manner and can demonstrate through a robust governance framework and assurance reporting.
Provide timely and robust information on estates operational services’ performance and reporting on a regular basis key performance indicators.
Being responsible for energy and utility management and cost reduction programmes where appropriate.
Playing a lead role in in the organisation’s carbon reduction programme.
Who fits this role:
Essential to have previous Primary Care experience and premises management background
Understanding of patient flow in healthcare buildings, and aware of regulations
Ability to work with focus groups and PPG in an approachable manner and able to respond to patient needs
Must be able to communicate effectively and collaboratively across varied staff disciplines
Clearly understand the importance of maintaining patient and data confidentiality
Carry out premises surveys as required
Undertaken a range of facilities and estates feasibility projects
Demonstrates well-developed computer and keyboard skills, and ability to interpret complex design layouts
Have national contacts within the healthcare building environment
Able to draft tender packs and project manage schemes and carry out negotiations as required
Ability to source suppliers and equipment for healthcare environments
