what you’ll be doing
Off the back of the tremendous growth that has led to us becoming Europe’s favourite little juice company, we are re-organising the company to deliver the next stage off our growth.
We are looking for someone to come in and ensure that the financial processes, controls, and reporting to our shareholder and external stakeholders is top notch. Working closely with the COO and the other members of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the finances of the business are accurate, timely, and done in a way that would make us proud. You will be the key finance liaison with the Coca-Cola finance team, as well as the lead on all external financial regulatory & compliance requirements including the auditors.
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring high quality financial processes and reporting – you will need to ensure that the processes in place across the business are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of risk-based standard operating procedures. As the various parts of the business are in different states of maturity, these will necessarily look different and will need to adapt and evolve as those business units develop.
Reporting – you will need to ensure that the group & business unit reporting that is done is reliable and accurate, and have a good understanding of the balances in the balance sheet and the risks / opportunities that exist
Compliance & governance – you will be managing the relationship with the Coca-Cola controls & compliance team, and with their internal audit team.
Internal audit – ensure that we are in a great place for the internal audits that will happen.
Internal reporting – you will be responsible for co-ordinating the monthly YTD / YTG P&L identifying variances to budget, together with the monthly balance sheet for the group and communicating this to both the Group COO and Coca-Cola.
External reporting – you will lead the external audit for the Group and ensure that local audits are being performed well
Planning – you’ll also be responsible for submitting the 3-year plan and budget numbers to Coca-Cola on time. You will need to co-ordinate the submission of information from across the group.
Direct tax – in conjunction with the tax lead at Coca-Cola you will need to implement all necessary processes to meet out tax obligations across the group (including transfer pricing under OECD guidelines)
Indirect tax – working with each local finance team, you will need to ensure that we are meeting all our obligations and that is done in a timely and accurate manner
Treasury – you will need to take ownership and develop the Treasury strategy we have and ensure really effective implementation of it (fx hedging, cashflow forecasting and management, banking) plus a number of other ad hoc projects that will arise.
leadership skills – comfortable in your own shoes, and able to recruit and inspire a team to deliver great performance. You’ll be someone who knows how to make change happen
Serious on performance, good to be around – we are very passionate about the performance of our business and we want to make sure that nothing gets in the way of our will to win. However, we find the best way of getting the most out of the team is a relaxed and fun environment. As a leader you won’t take yourself too seriously, and will be able to create a culture where people work hard and still loving coming to work
Great operator – you’ll be able to move from leadership to hands-on management of the day-to-day group finance operations. You will be a qualified accountant who has had experience of working in a group finance environment
Operational excellence – as part of the finance leadership team, you will help develop the culture that embraces and demonstrate the behaviours needed for operational excellence, and you will be a driver for the effective implementation of change. You will adopt and share the best ideas from inside and outside the company
And hopefully you’ll also have:
A ‘can do’ attitude, with an ability to see through complexity to develop simple solutions.
Great communicator, able to collaborate cross-functionally
Demonstrable leadership, management, and coaching ability to develop and grow a team
Operationally focused with high EQ that earns respect from their team and peers
Able to engage a team on a continuous improvement journey.
Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally
A commitment to doing business the right way. As a senior leader within innocent you will help us to keep innocent one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work, using our B Corp status to inspire wider change, and reinforcing our culture of staying little as we grow big.
In return for everything you can bring, we can offer you an exciting, challenging role in a fast-growing and dynamic business, with plenty of career opportunities in the UK and across Europe as well as a competitive rewards package. We also have some great clubs, a free breakfast and as many smoothies as you can shake a stick at. Take a look at our reward page for more details.
If you think you have everything we’re looking for and more, then we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll need to get your skates on though, as applications close on 23rd June
Dolly Parton may have worked Nine to Five but you don’t have to. We’re all about being healthy and happy here at innocent so we’re open to a chat about flexible working. No promises, but we reckon that if it’s good for you, then it’s good for us.
No agencies please.
