You’ll be working in the Compliance and Risk (“C&R”) team in London. We are responsible for the effective operation of the C&R function including strategic initiatives; C&R Reporting; financial control; operational risk management; business management; and management support.
The Operational Risk Manager will play an important role in helping Babylon develop risk mitigating measures, controls and adequate operational risk plans are in place for the business, and the broader C&R function, as well as supporting the provision of high quality Operational Risk data.
Role / Responsibilities
The management of operational risk is a key business priority for Babylon and is vital to the successful delivery of the firm’s strategy. The Operational Risk Manager has responsibility for the development of operational risk management.
Supporting the C&R function in facing off to senior Front Office stakeholders.
Taking ownership of delivery of key business reports.
Developing specific aspects of the operational risk framework as required.
Supporting the Director of Compliance in the performance of their responsibilities.
Developing a close working relationship with key business stakeholders and providing ongoing communication of key Operational Risk developments and requirements.
Providing support and challenge to key business stakeholders in their development, roll out and maintenance of Operational Risk products; including: RCSAs, KRIs, events.
Leading the collation, analysis and reporting of operational risk MI for monthly Aggregated Risk Profiles, which will be presented to business management.
Identifying key trends, issues and other insights requiring further investigation and following up with the business as appropriate.
Skills / Experience
Ideally 8+ years of experience in Operational Risk Management
Analytical, with the ability to provide practical solutions for minimising risk
Result-oriented and assertive
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
The ability to coordinate senior stakeholders and colleagues to consolidate information against tight deadlines
The ability to coach and lead colleagues at all levels firm wide, to successfully educate and embed our processes and approaches
Good working knowledge of the local regulatory environment
Experience in operational risk or related functions in financial or medical services institutions
An understanding of the role of Operational Risk in a financial or medical services business
Display commercial awareness and an understanding of key business priorities
Have experience and understanding of the components of an operational risk management framework and their inter relationships
Desirable but non-essential attributes:
